The Plight of the U.S. Physician: Killing Trees or Saving Lives?

It is a well known fact (even to those outside of the Healthcare Industry) that the modern U.S. physician is drowning in government required paperwork and red tape related to recent attempts at healthcare reform.

Kerry Willis, MD is no stranger to the challenges facing independent medical practices in today’s economy.  He is the CEO of Largest Continuously Operating Physician Network in Eastern NC and Founding Officer and Board Member of Atlantic Integrated Health and its business operations subsidiary, The Beacon Company.

Given his impeccable track record, when Dr. Willis speaks – people listen.  That’s why I thought it important to share a letter he recently composed to President Obama.

You can read the letter in its entirety here.  I would also highly recommend checking out Dr. Willis in-person when he speaks at the Physician Practice Survival Conference in Raleigh, NC on October 19 & 20, 2012!

Independent Physicians in Texas Feeling the Strain…

Many communities across the U.S. have been dealing with a shortage or doctors for some time now and the  number of physicians providing primary care on the steep decline in Texas.

Amber Baker, Registered Nurse, WTAMU believes she may have a solution.

“As you advance in your practice and become more independent would allow you to continue as you get more experience become an independent practitioner and that’s not an option right now in the state of Texas,”
